Selsey's teenage triathlon takes shape

INTEREST is growing in a teenage charity triathlon which will take place in Selsey in September.

The event, on September 4 at Selsey recreation ground and the Oasis Leisure Centre, comprises a 200m swim, an 8km bike ride and a 3km run.

There are three age ranges – 11-12, 13-14 and 15-16 – and the first, second and third in each willl be presented with a trophy marking their achievement.

The winner in each category will win a prize of £50 and the overall boy and girl winners will each win £100. All competitors will receive a sports bag containing a water bottle, swimming cap and T-shirt and all finishers will receive a medal.

Complementing the triathlon will be stalls, a prize raffle, a hog roast, live music from Screw Loose and a cake sale, all in aid of Chestnut Tree House and the Rocking Horse appeal.
