Hide Ad“The racing here has to be the very best that we can offer, people need to enjoy themselves and think of it as good value for money and having a great day out,” he said.
“Things have changed vastly in the time I have been involved in the industry. At one time the Jockey Club ran the whole of racing.
“The Levy Board’s funding scheme has changed and it is providing less than ever for racing.
“Today sponsorship and media rights are a big and important part of our income and there is a lot more competition for funding within the industry.”

Hide AdHe added: “Standards of customer service have gone up during the last 20 years because time and economic pressure has increased.
“People have less time to spend at leisure and it is essential it is the best experience possible.
“Goodwood is the most beautiful course in the country and we aim to keep it in top condition. We have an excellent clerk of the course in Seamus Buckley. I went out on the course with him recently and was amazed at its excellent condition, despite the frost, snow and heavy rain it has endured in recent months.”
Adam has come to Sussex well equipped for any challenges, with two decades of experience in running racecourses to his credit.
