Sharks in the Caribbean: Sussex crash out of t20 after third defeat

Sussex Sharks take on Barbados at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown hoping to keep their Caribbean T20 campaign alive.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, the Sharks disappointingly collapsed to 89 all out inside 18 overs as Barbados took full use of their home advantage.

Their West Indian fast bowling duo of Fidel Edwards and Tino Best claimed three wickets apiece while skipper Michael Yardy was the pick of the batsman for Sussex, hitting 33 from 34 balls.

The Sharks did manage to quell the threat of former player Dwayne Smith as he was run out for 18 but Barbados needed only 14.4 overs to reach their target, with Will Beer taking the other wicket, the legspinner dismissing Jonathan Carter.

It was the third successive time that Barbados had bowled the opposition out for less than 100 and they flew to the top of the table having won three out of three.
