Sidley Vase dream dies

SIDLEY United s hopes of a good run in the FA Vase came crashing around their ears as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Dereham Town.

Two first half blunders meant the Blues were always chasing this second round tie.

Pert opened the scoring midway through the first half and another gift allowed Christie to double the lead for the East Counties Premier outfit.

Chris Scott pulled one back on 65 minutes but Dereham held out for victory.

Bexhill Town lost 3-1 away to Edwards Sports in Gary Light s first match since taking over as manager. Steve Galt scored from the penalty spot but it was not enough to prevent the Green Machine from tumbling out of the Sussex Intermediate Cup.
