Smart move for King George Stakes?

Bryan Smart's Group One-winning sprinter Tangerine Trees may run in the King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood following a satisfactory effort at Royal Ascot.

Last year’s Prix de l’Abbaye hero has yet to find top gear so far this season, showing his customary early pace in both the Temple Stakes at Haydock and the King’s Stand Stakes before weakening.

Smart said: “He’s in the Nunthorpe, but he could go to Goodwood before that for the Group Two race (King George Stakes). He wouldn’t have to carry a penalty there.”
