Guys and girls aged 16 and over are invited to enrol for this informal softball taster session in Oaklands Park, beside the theatre.

The session will be free of charge, requires no equipment or experience, and will see players paired up with Falcons to learn how to throw, catch, hit and run like seasoned ballplayers.

“We recognise that it can seem daunting to turn up to join in with a team of experienced players, especially in a niche sport like softball,” said Falcons manager David Morris.

“Starting with Rookie Night, new players can figure out the game and practice at their own pace, learning softball together without having to compete with the elite. Whenever the rookies are ready, they can jump in with the team for matches and tournaments and look forward to a successful career with us on the ballpark.”

Indeed the Falcons are entering a tournament aimed specifically at new players in early April – Rookie Night attendees are encouraged to join the squad heading to Southampton to play.
