STONER CALLS IT A DAY
He will quit the game having broken his left ankle on Saturday near the end of Golds' 3-1 County League Division One defeat to Whitehawk at East Brighton Park, following three previous breaks to his right leg during the course of his career.
It happened when he turned his ankle awkwardly while trying to challenge Hawks' Mark Sherriff and trod on the ball and at first it was thought he suffered just tendon or ligament damage.
