Strong men flex for charity

OVER 350 spectators enjoyed Saturday's sunshine as nine strong men heavyweights from as far afield as Birmingham turned in a compelling afternoon of muscle flexing in the Sussex Strongest Man Open at Bexhill Down.

The event, the biggest showcase of muscle-flexing the town has ever seen, was primarily held to raise funds for urgent remedial work to the Bexhill ATHA Showbar.

Gladiator "Hawk" presented the top prize to winner Oli Thompson while Adam Townsend was runner-up. The jamboree, organised by Jon Bowles, was sponsored by Physiques Gym and Solid Security.
