The 16-year-old finished in exactly the same time as Anna Henderson from Dunstable. Up against a field of under-21 races, the pair also came joint third overall – a fantastic achievement for the young racers.

The championship, organised by Snowsport England, is a key event on the National skiing calendar and is well-known as a platform for the rising stars of skiing, including the likes of Chemmy Alcott and Dave Ryding, currently competing on the World Cup circuit.

Stoughton’s Oscar McCall was unable to take part in the English championships having suffered a fractured hip.

He’s hoping to be back on the snow in three weeks’ time so he can race in the GB championships at the end of March.

Just before the injury, McCall raced for GB in the Skiinterkriterium championships in the Czech Republic.

He came sixth in his age group for giant slalom and seventh in slalom racing against skiers from all over the world including Russia, Australia, Czech Republic and Slovenia.
