They are supplying tennis kit and shoes for the rising teenage star.

Phillips said: “Game, Set and Match have been extremely generous in sponsoring my competition and training kit. This includes a fantastic selection of KSwiss tennis clothing, KSwiss tennis shoes and Asics running shoes.

“The sponsorship will make a considerable difference to me as I am in a sport which costs a lot to compete and train at a high level.

Tennis is mostly an individual sport which makes it harder to attract sponsorship. At the same time it means that travelling costs are not shared by a team but have to be met by the individual player.

“This means there are big challenges off the court as well as on the court playing matches.”

Phillips has chalked up a string of impressive achievements.

She gained her first WTA world ranking point by beating the Scottish indoor champion at the Surbiton Trophy in June, the same month she also played at the prestigious Eastbourne Trophy.

Phillips has been ranked No1 among Sussex women for most of 2014-15 and was ranked inside the top 50 women in early 2015.

She has beaten players ranked inside the top 40 for women and beat the No21 in 2014-15 and reached the semi-final of a British Tour national level tournament in May.

Phillips represented Sussex women in the County Cup winning all five matches as Sussex won promotion to division one in December.
