Swimming Seymour sisters make county waves

SISTERS Daisy and Lily Seymour '“ who go to Midhurst Rother College '“ have just competed in the 2016 Surrey Championships.

Lily, 11, won silver in the 200m backstroke and 50m butterfly – in which she was 12th in the UK – and bronze in the 50m backstroke and 100m fly.

She came fifth overall in the 12-year-old age group. She has qualified for the south east region championships in backstroke and butterfly (all distances).

Daisy, 12, won gold in the 50m backstroke (15th in UK), 100m backstroke (16th UK), 200m backstroke, 50m freestyle (13th UK), silver in the 100m individual medley, 50m butterfly and bronze in the 100m freestyle. She also came first in the overall 13-year-old age group.

She has all her south east region qualifying times and hopes to improve on last year’s success at regionals. She is also aiming to qualify for nationals this year.
