TESTER GETS GOING

YOU GET one end of your game sorted, and then the other fails to work properly.

After last week's abysmal batting display against Preston Nomads, Littlehampton corrected their trouble with the willow at home to Bexhill on Saturday, only to miss out on a deserved victory when they allowed the East Sussex side to escape from 23-4 and 100-8 to claim a draw at 150-8.

Opening bowlers Stuart Stoneham and Gary Tester had pierced their way through the top of the Bexhill batting with two wickets each and then Adam Tester yorked hard-hitting Matthew Blackman for 16.

But the Phillimore brothers '“ Martin and Steve '“ proved to be to great a stumbling block for Littlehampton to overcome. After 80 minutes of solid defence, Martin eventually pulled one off Chris Hanks to Richard Vokes at square-leg.
