Treat for children at weekly riding session

THE Easter chick hopped along to deliver baskets of eggs to children who ride with Court Meadow Group Riding for the Disabled recently. The children all attend Court Meadow School, Cuckfield and have profound and multiple learning difficulties.

School carers were able to watch and enjoy coffee and hot cross buns whilst watching the children have their weekly riding session at Ditchling Common Stud.

The group's instructor is a trained remedial physiotherapist who devises exercises specific to each child's requirements.

The movement of a horse is unique and enables the rider to improve balance, muscle tone and co-ordination. As all Court Meadow pupils who participate have individual needs they benefit greatly from the one to one assistance offered by the group.

In June this year, Court Meadow RDA will be celebrating it's 30th birthday with a special day to mark the occasion.

If you would like to know more or offer to help in any way then visit their web site www.courtmeadow-rda.org.uk or phone Chairman Anna Kerr on 01444 459944.
