Turf is the canvas for artist Trudy

WEST Sussex equine artist Trudy Redfern has been appointed as Artist in Residence at Fontwell Park racecourse for 2007/8. She will be exhibiting her work at the course at race meeting throughout that period, as well as undertaking commissions.

Trudy studied fine art at Gloucester College and Animal Behaviour at Southampton University. She has ridden all her life and owns an ex-racehorse, Deep Chance, given to her by Carrie and Lawrence Zetter-Wells whose racing yard is at Wisborough Green.

She exhibits frequently and is currently exhibiting at the Owners and Trainer's bar at each race meeting for a year at Fontwell Park from May 4.

The public will also be able to see her work on Fontwell Park's Merchandise Stall from May 27.

Trudy lives in Hambrook with her graphic designer husband and rescue dog Millie. Trudy is also exhibiting on behalf of the British Horse Society at their its Jubilee celebration day in Dorset on July 22.
