The two Richards can't save Chichester against Three Bridges

Hisham-Ul-Haq hit 152 and Jibran Khan 41 for Three Bridges, while Richard Browning took three for 36 for Chichester.

The home side were bowled out for 206 despite stout resistance from Richard Logan who made their top score of 76.

For Bridges skipper Danny Alderman took four for 53.

Chichester started the game feeling confident, but were blown away by Haq’s knock.

Three Bridges elected to bat first on what looked a typically-good Priory Park wicket and the decision proved to be a good one as Haq and Khan (51) batted with freedom after the loss of an early wicket.

Despite a number of chances, Chichester were unable to remove Haq as he blasted his way to 152 to enable the declaration.

A total of 303 is always be a diffcult target batting second and so it proved as Chichester were dismissed for 206.

The innings started poorly as Matt Gregory was run out and wickets were lost at fairly regular intervals.

Only Logan with 76 looked like providing a challenge, but when he was out, denying Three Bridges the victory became the target.

Matt Geffen and James Stedman had 14 overs to bat out for the draw and did well to reach the final over, but the last man fell with just two balls remaining. Alderman was the pick of the Three Bridges bowlers.

Chichester travel to bottom side Pulborough this week in a game they must win to get their season back on track.
