United getting the hang of it!

WORTHING UNITED stole the limelight on Saturday when for the first time at this stage of the competition all three local clubs took the FA Cup stage together.

Their last-gasp winner gave them a 3-2 victory from 2-0 down and followed up the clubs' maiden FA Cup victory in its history.

They and Worthing have home draws on September 30, respectively against Romford of the Essex Senior League and Cheshunt, who are the mirrow images of Rebels in second-bottom place in the Southern League Premier Division.

Worthing dismissed a team two grades below in the Combined Counties League and allayed the worst fears of their more pessimistic fans.

Lancing, though, were outclassed and the match may have brought to an end the career of one of Worthing football's most valiant workers, creators and leaders, Mark Burt.
