VIDEO: Hannon horses put through pre-Glorious Goodwood paces

The Hannons are out to reign again at Glorious Goodwood – and they’ve been busy parading two good reasons why they might just do it. Or to be more precise, two good horses.

Racecourse officials visited Richard Hannon senior at his Herridge racing yard in Wiltshire and saw more than a dozen of their contenders for Glorious put through their paces.

Among the stablemates were two obvious big stars – Toronado, who’s set to try to follow in Frankel’s footsteps in winning a second Sussex Stakes title, and Toormore, another of the yard’s leading horses who is destined to bid for the Group 2 Lennox Stakes on the opening day of the festival.

Hannon senior might have handed over his trainer’s licence to his son, also called Richard, but he is still hands-on at Herridge. And he said he was delighted with how Toronado and Toormore were looking a fortnight before Glorious.
