VIDEO: Junior version of Rugby World Cup is a hit in Chichester

SCORES of primary-school pupils played out their own version of the Rugby World Cup in Chichester.

The sun was beating down on the home of Chichester RFC as teams from 16 West Sussex schools played for honours.

Each was given a World Cup-playing nation and many of the games were refereed by young officials who had been specially trained for the event.

The Mayor of Chichester, Cllr Peter Budge, was among those present to watch.

It was the third major event hosted by the rugby club in their festival of rugby - following on from a beach rugby tournament at West Wittering and the City Walls Pass and Longest Pass, an attempt to break the world record of 279 for the most consecutive number of passes.
