The Valley Challenge has been renamed the Tod Anstee Valley Challenge thanks to generous sponsorship from local property consultants and estate agents Tod Anstee.

The event, which started in 2013, is a challenging but stunning running eight mile off-road race through the Lavant Valley to the north of Chichester, taking in the tracks and trails of the Goodwood estate, as well as the three valley pubs.

Now in its third year and well established on the local calendar, the race is organised by local personal trainer Jo Hoskings of Milestone Fitness and is held to raise funds for Singleton Primary School.

Chris Todd, head teacher, said: “We are so grateful to all the runners, who come from all over the south, for supporting the school in this way and we would like to thank Tod Anstee for supporting a great local cause with their sponsorship.”

Good friends for many years in London and West Sussex, Sam Tod and John Anstee created Tod Anstee LLP in 2009. Both live in the Lavant Valley and as such are delighted to support such a great local cause.

This year’s race starts from East Dean Village Hall at 10am. Race HQ has parking, refreshments and toilets for runners.

All finishers will receive a handcrafted wooden medal from Wests of East Dean as well as a bag of goodies. For an entry form and further information, please visit www.milestone-fitness.co.uk

The previous two races, both won by Chichester runner James Baker, have attracted more than 300 participants, including a couple of local celebrities, and have raised £5,000-plus for Singleton’s Playschool and Primary School.

The feedback from runners has been overwhelmingly positive, with many coming back this year for the third time.
