Westfield players return to action

Just "a couple" who are on holiday are the only ones yet to put pen to paper and one or two newcomers are also contemplating doing so, according to chairman Graham Drinkwater. Goalkeeper Peter Newstead, the only real doubt at the end of last season, is one of those to have signed on the dotted line.

On the subject of the new campaign, Shoreham will be Westfield's first opponents when it all kicks-off on Saturday August 14.

The Parish Field club will then take on newly-promoted Crowborough Athletic following the announcement of the first month's games last weekend.

Seaford will be their opponents for their so-called derby clash on December 27 and Easter Monday.
