WICK ALMOST BLOW IT

WICK Football Club bounced back from last week's defeat at Eastbourne Town to record their fourth successive home league win against battling Sidley on Saturday.

It had looked plain sailing for Wick as they raced into a two-goal lead inside 20 minutes and with the visitors down to 10 men, victory looked a formality. However they were ultimately grateful to Tom Manton who provided the winner after Sidley had fought back to level terms.

Wick opened with purpose and Manton had a shot cleared off the line in the first minute.

Darren Annis, Manton and Danny Curd were looking particularly lively up front and Annis struck in the 10th minute to make it two in two games since his return to the club. He combined with Curd in a one-two that split Sidley's defence and finished with style.
