Worthing Golf Club captains to support hospital scanner appeal

WORTHING Hospital's CT Scanner £1,000,000 Appeal is to be supported by Worthing Golf Club. The two new captains at the club have chosen the appeal as their joint charity.

Paul Barrington, the 2005 World Golf Trick Shot Champion put on a superb display of trick golf shots at the traditional 'drive-in' of Club Captain, Roy Bennett recently. Roy was not overawed by the sight of seeing Barrington hit the ball out of sight, and teed off with a shot that thundered more than 200 yards down the fairway.

New Ladies Captain, Kathy Langham got not one but four balls to hit at her drive-in. The joker made an appearance when the first exploded, the second sprayed out streamers, the third sent out white powder and the casing on the fourth ball split in half. Even so, the last ball travelled 130 yards down the fairway.

The two new captains hope to raise as much as possible for the charity with different events at the club during the coming year.
