Competition launches for young Horsham photographers

Nature – The Way I See It is a young peoples wildlife photo competition launching on August 1.

Spokeswoman Jo Browse said: “The competition for under-19s is just one of the ecological projects in 2020 at St Margaret’s Church in Warnham under the banner Theme Green. Entry is free and open to all young people in the Horsham District.Three local professional photographers are judging the three age groups and there are cash prizes to be won. The winner in each age group also bags a masterclass at Warnham Nature Reserve with award-winning nature photographer Sean Collins.”

The three age groups are: under nines, nine-13, 14-18. There will be an exhibition of short-listed entries in early November. Prizes in each age group are: first prize – £25 and a masterclass with Sean Collins, prize-winning nature photographer; second prize – £15; third prize £10. Competitors must live in the Horsham district. Entries will be sent in by email. One entry per person

A published travel and wildlife photographer, Sean has had images featured in travel brochures and on the Richard & Judy TV show. One of his photos, regional winner of a national photo competition and taken at Warnham Local Nature Reserve, was described by Chris Packham as “breaking all the rules, ... just amazing!” Sean can be found at WLNR most weekends filming and photographing and sharing his photographic passion and knowledge with others
