BISHOP Sandy Millar is to be the speaker for the Petworth Area Churches Together Spring Lecture, on Friday, April 20.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, has in the past described Sandy Millar as ‘someone whose skill in communicating the gospel is bound up with being supremely and happily himself’.
His talk will be titled ‘Christianity – boring, untrue, irrelevant?’
Sandy Millar was vicar of Holy Trinity Brompton in London from 1985 to 2005 and is the principle person responsible for the Alpha course.
He is considered to be one of the most influential and respected Anglican vicars of his generation, with great skill in communicating the gospel to believers and non-believers like.
His talk takes place at St. Mary’s Church in Petworth starting at 7.30pm.
There will be free entry for everyone and no tickets will be necessary.
Light refreshments will be provided after the lecture.
