But Griffiths remains full of confidence as he makes the short trip down the A27 to the Liquid Fury show in Portsmouth where he faces West Ham’s Johnny Greaves. The London southpaw has been in the ring with former world champion Gavin Rees and domestic title-holders Lee Purdy, Liam Walsh, Lee Selby, Gavin Sykes and the unbeaten Tyrone Nurse. Griffiths said: “Three straight defeats is not how I envisaged starting my pro career but I’m getting regular work because I’m dependable and durable with something to offer. “I was fairly beaten in the first fight and the other two were very good learning experiences where I have proved my toughness. “I won’t pick easy options, I will take on anyone, anywhere.” Griffiths has a great record in Portsmouth, winning eight and drawing one with just a contentious defeat as an amateur with Portsmouth Stacey ABC and as a semi-pro.
